I’ll admit, without seeing the milliondollarwiki, I probably would not have come up with this idea. However, those sites were more of a content- and keyword-rich directory than anything else. Like I’ve said before, the power of a wiki is in the linking between the pages, something which didn’t happen on the other paid wikis. Additionally, there was a limit on the number of pages which are worth a certain value. Thus, once the valuable pages are bought up, that’s it, no more content shows up. Here, you can control pages worth more than $25 a year, but also contribute and extract value out of all the other possible pages you can think of. That’s a pretty fair deal, and definitely better than the other paid wikis offered.

Anyway, think of it this way, how many businesses out there took an old concept, tweaked it, and made it better or at least found a strong niche? Let’s see, Google in search engines,  Jones Soda in carbonated beverages, Monster Energy in energy drinks, Facebook in social networking - there are a lot of firms out there which just took a concept, tweaked or fixed it, and made a strong company. That’s what I see for Monopowiki.

Also, our first review on a blog of any size ran yesterday.Jonathan Volk, a pretty cool guy, ran a pretty positive review on the site. As a result, we had our best day ever yesterday trafficwise, and we had several new users sign up, and a lot of pages added yesterday. Given what Jonathan gave us, I’m pretty excited about what a John Chow review will get us, with 25 times more RSS subs. than Jonathan.

1) Take your Adsense code, for example:

2) Remove the opening “<script type=”text/javascript”><!–” and the closing “//–>

So what you have left is:

3) Add an opening <adsense> and a closing </adsense> so you have:

google_ad_width = xxx;
google_ad_height = yy; </adsense>

4) Make sure that there is not a new line between the opening <adsense> and the google_ad_client and the ending data and the closing </adsense>. Otherwise, there can be a couple issues.

Note that this only works for pages that have been purchased. I want to avoid having a Wild West of people changing Adsense codes every few seconds. If you have thoughts on how allowing Adsense on any page could work though, I’d like to hear about it.
